Immortals rule, demons protect and humans serve. Little Princess Malia hadn't had any reason to question the order of her kingdom until she ventured outside the castle walls and befriended Gorken, a human boy. She hadn't had any reason to yearn for strength either, until her fellow immortals found them out and executed Gorken. Convinced that what truly killed Gorken was her own weakness, Malia resolved to train herself as a warrior, so that she wouldn't fail to protect what mattered most to her ever again.
Her efforts over the years turned her into a formidable fighter, her time to ascend the throne approached, and yet she was aimless. What use could strong arms and an iron will have against secrets and ghosts?
Gorken's return into her life set her time back in motion: the friend she thought dead was now the leader of the human rebellion, and she chose to join him in search of the truth, abandoning her place among stagnant immortal royalty. Their journey would force them to seek answers to the mysteries cloaking their world, their friends and themselves.
