Lawrence Bansagi has always grown an affinity for board games and card games that he opened his own cafe highlighting the beautiful games that he has collected over the years. His most prized possession is a dusty silver-colored card given to him by Sauren Lathatan, his schoolmate who conveniently appears everytime danger approaches. One day, Lawrence was closing up shop for the day but notices Sauren injured right outside his cafe. Lawrence tended to his wounds and asked Sauren what happened. He explained that the Philippines will fall into ruin. That the "Tarheta" is the way for destiny to change. Lawrence didn't understand what he said but brushed it off as a twisted joke. As Sauren leaves, he lets out a whisper that echoes throughout the building: Music, art, culture, myths, bonds all fade within due time, just like the gods and goddesses of this world. I call upon you, save the future. Save me, destroy me, kill me and set this world free. That same night, Lawrence finally understood what Sauren said.

Elven's parents died to beasts the villagers dared not fight. Now, the same villagers have chosen him as a sacrifice-to appease Thalansil, the silver dragon god of the Cariden Archipelago. Resentful and full of scorn, Elven believes this island will be his grave. But Thalansil, childlike in his power and strange in his kindness, offers not death-but companionship. Within the island's forgotten library and under stars seen only from a dragon's back, Elven begins to uncover the world of magic-and the blurred lines between human and god, offering and choice.
