This story centers around Andy, who is 15 and just moved to North Carolina because his girlfriend, Jenna, had committed suicide and it was almost impossible to stop thinking about her being in the same town as she had once lived in. Rains is a bullied girl who is a loner and is difficult at making friends, but decides to take the risk of talking to Andy, and they become best friends. But eventually Andy starts to realize that he thinks of her in the same way as he thought of Jenna. But, he is in denial, because he thinks he still loves Jenna. Can he sort out his feelings and decide-Keep faithful to Jenna as they had never really broken up and he feels it was his fault she died, or love Raina and forget about Jenna, and the way they used to love each other?
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
