When Kathryn's brother is taken on orders from Sheriff Alvingham, she heads to Nottingham Castle to plead for his release, but fails to gain entry. Determined to make her case, she poses as a maid in an attempt to meet the Sheriff, but is spotted by Gisborne before she is able to reach him.
Gisborne is desperate man, staggering through each day awash with opiates & alcohol since the loss of the woman he loved in a mysterious incident in the Holy Land.
When he locks Kathryn in his chamber to await her punishment, both her honour & her life seem to be at stake, but the pair recognise in one another a kindred spirit & as the night wears on & confidences are revealed it seems that her brother may not be the only man Kathryn can save.

Writing this for a contest: (prompt 44) In the middle of a storm, a stranger arrives at her cabin, and she offers them shelter. But the storm's forecast said they'll be stuck for much longer than expected. *************** She was a squib, and she lived in the middle of the woods away from society. Her parents were purebloods, but they passed away from Dragon Pox, leaving the girl alone. She was raised away from society because her parents wanted to keep her safe from the wizarding world. Her parents raised her without magic, or if they did use magic, it was when she wasn't around or wasn't paying attention. She was oblivious to magic, because she had never seen it before. So, when a stranger arrives at her cabin in the middle of a wild storm, she was hesitant, because she had never been around anyone but her own parents before. When the forecast came through that the storm made it impossible for everyone to leave their homes, she realized she was stuck with the stranger longer than she anticipated. The stranger had an almost threatening aura around him, and that scared her slightly, but she couldn't help but feel intrigued by him. What she didn't know, was in the wizarding world, there was a special thing called soul mates. This stranger had arrived by accident, but there was reason. He had been trying to get away from the evil of his father, and went in search of his soul mate, but the storm slowed him down, unknowingly bringing him right to his soul mate's front door...
A King, A Captain, A Mess
Two brothers learn who each other really are while on an adventure. Who will be king? Can they stop a civil war? Will they find and accept their mates? Could I suck any worse at descriptions?... probably not. Still, I think you should give the story a chance before you disregard it. Story excerpt: "I don't want to be a king. I've never wanted to be king! You know this, Father. Please..." I beg hoping he has another solution. "I see no other option. Look out the window, Ethan. It hasn't even been an hour, and a crowd has gathered at our doors. What do you want me to do? The people love you. The soldiers respect you. The only members of the clan you need to win over are the stuffed shirts and with what your brother just pulled? You're as good as gold." "You wanted this to happen." I accuse him, and he shrugs. "Want? No. Expect? Yes. Your brother is more concerned with holding his mothers dress than leading his people... but by all means, if you have a plan to make him a worthy ruler, lay it out for me, Captain." Father responds, looking for a battle plan to reign in his own son. "Are you willing to stand up to your mate?" I ask and he shudders before nodding. I've got some work to do.

[A/N]: Hey guys! Before I post this story, I was going to give a little insight. A very good friend of mine and I decided to write this book, and what better way to recieve constructive critcism than to share with everyone here on wattpad? I'm proud to say that we're nearly finished with it, around three to five more chapters need to be written. However, I will gladly post two chapters a week. She’s just upset about Benjamin." A second voice, a man, replied to the woman. "She’ll never love Derick." A hint of anger played beneath the surface of the woman’s voice. I lay back down after that, so much for Emma accepting our marriage. Unhappiness coursed through my body and I became furious. I’d never love Emma either; with that I went to sleep. I dreamt of my mother singing in the castle, her voice was loud and demanding. Her words flowed so freely from her mouth and danced playfully down the halls. She was in the throne room singing to my father just as she always did. Her song was about the way she learned to love my father. Most marriages in Scotland are arranged, and due to our beliefs they have to work out. My mother had always been so madly in love with my father, but he was hesitant because he had to leave the woman he loved so dearly. So he let her go…Complete

I took in his every feature, slowly and deliberately. I thrilled at the feeling of his arms enfolding me, and I inhaled his familiar scent with a trembling breath. And then, then I did the most foolish thing imaginable: I flung my arms about his neck and kissed him with all that I had, almost losing myself in the safety and security I felt. But more than that, I ran. I took his moment of shock, the slight loosing of his arms about me, and tore myself away from him, shoving out the door and into the rain. I suppose I'll never know why he didn't follow me. It was the thing I feared most. I knew that if he came for me a second time, I wouldn't be able to say 'no'. I wouldn't be able to run. But I had to. I had to go. I couldn't let him be hurt because of me. He would live on now, and I would marry another. I had leased my last bit of passion in that one moment in his arms, and as I made my way through the dark streets, I felt myself become dull and lost like the creatures bound in the menagerie. **Much of this was written when I was younger and then I came back later and finished it.
