One unfortunate night, young Katherine Bakers witnessed the murder of her older sister Nina. The event left Katherine with deep scars as she continues to mourn her sister, becoming a town recluse.

Soon, her reality is torn away as she meets a dark and mysterious man, named Hades, who claims to be the Greek god of the Underworld and Wealth. Naturally, Katherine thinks he's crazy and tries to ignore him.

Hades has lost everything. With his wife Persephone gone and his rule over the Underworld crumbling and weakening, he is desperate for a new queen. When he meets Katherine, he thought she could be the one, but she wants nothing to do with him, drowning in her own pain and sorrow.

But when there's a dormant enemy set on overtaking Olympus and the mortal world, Katherine is practically forced in the middle with secrets and revelations of her past, her role in this war and with a deceased goddess.
