In the best of times, the streets and structures of New York are filled with an eclectic mixture of people -- some very good, some very bad, most somewhere in between.
These are not the best of times.
Gang activity is on the increase; it looks like some kind of war is going on. If that was all that was happening, newest iteration of the Heroes For Hire in the big apple would have no problems restoring peace and order. But when monstrous villains start appearing out of nowhere, the heroes' problem becomes much more complicated than just relieving some street punks of their switchblades.
To solve the mystery and defeat their foes, the Heroes For Hire will need their minds as well as their muscles. But hey, that's what being a hero is all about, right?
...right??

It's 2012 in NYC and you're living your life as normally as an avenger's child could. Having Tony Stark as a father wasn't easy everyday, but still it was amazing, and a lot of fun. Summer holidays were going on super well. You trained, studied, worked at the lab, and a lot of stuff. You didn't like everything you had to do, but most of the time, it was cool. You always had someone to be with, wether they were busy or not, and you liked it. You loved having some time alone with your mind, but being with the avengers all the time was amazing ! On May 4th, New-York got attacked by some monsters, and the avengers were fighting them (without you of course, you weren't trained enough, and way too young). You were safe at the Stark Tower so it was calm all the time, and you just used to spend the whole day in your room, reading or do whatever you like to do. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. y/n met peter parker one time at the one of the university bus stops & shared a pizza with him in the rain. he seemed like the nicest kid & so when y/n sees peter in the hospital only a couple weeks later looking like a shell of the boy she'd once met, well, y/n's always felt a calling to helping people. so why not help peter parker? plus, he's super cute so that also is a huge help. to put it plainly, y/n loves helping other people & feels some sort of connection to a curly-headed kid with one arm that she hardly knows, peter is tired & can't seem to catch a break & is kind of an asshole. & it would seem that even though felicia & peter broke up & were never even really together, felicia still has some plans for the two of them. also no one likes gwen stacey, mj takes up a new hobby called vandalism & y/n's roommates get arrested for something they didn't do.
