The lands were ravished after the short-lived War of the Gods. The aftermath of the cruelty littered almost every single corner of the continent. A few races went extinct in the crossfire, and the remaining mortals who survived struggled to get back to their feet, but refused to give up, nonetheless. Even until then, there was one place which managed to remain intact throughout. 

A kingdom that two Gods protected with their very lives. 

A decade passed and the lone kingdom stood and sheltered other survivors, gathering various kinds of creatures.

Could I suck any worse at descriptions?... probably not. Still, I think you should give the story a chance before you disregard it. Story excerpt: "I don't want to be a king. I've never wanted to be king! You know this, Father. Please..." I beg hoping he has another solution. "I see no other option. Look out the window, Ethan. It hasn't even been an hour, and a crowd has gathered at our doors. What do you want me to do? The people love you. The soldiers respect you. The only members of the clan you need to win over are the stuffed shirts and with what your brother just pulled? You're as good as gold." "You wanted this to happen." I accuse him, and he shrugs. "Want? No. Expect? Yes. Your brother is more concerned with holding his mothers dress than leading his people... but by all means, if you have a plan to make him a worthy ruler, lay it out for me, Captain." Father responds, looking for a battle plan to reign in his own son. "Are you willing to stand up to your mate?" I ask and he shudders before nodding. I've got some work to do.

I wish I knew what was in store for me after he noticed me because my life would never be the same. Now my life was about as unnormal as you can get. Everything I thought to be true, especially about myself, was wrong. Not only this but now I live in a world where fantasy creatures exist. Werewolves, vampires, fae, trolls and more. They aren't just a fantasy anymore, they're real. My life was normal like any other person. Then my world came crashing down when I met Liam, he rocked every bone in my body and resistance was hard. I had to leave my world behind after finding out the truth of what I was and train as hard as I could. There were people after me and my kind and I wasn't sure how to stop them. How could I protect so many and lead a brand new life myself? How do I prevent war with the world? And how will I ever be able to resist Liam's charm when every fiber of my being pulls me toward him? The supernatural isn't a myth anymore, they are real and I'm one of them. And now the whole world is after us. Note: This can be read as a standalone but you can read Taken first if you want. There's no reason to read it if you don't want to. This book is completely understandable without reading Taken beforehand.

Completed 07/11/2017 ----- I always used to picture my mate, my true mate. He would be powerful and incredibly handsome, perfect for me. The perfect person to make me feel complete. Every day, I was in that sick place, not looking for him, I continued to grow weaker. Soon, it was hard for me to stand up properly and walk around. Soon, I was way too thin, starved. Soon, I was losing all hope. One mark on the ground, one line, one day. I never stopped making lines, and soon enough, I had about 30. They didn't really matter to me. As a new line appeared everyday, I seemed to care a bit less about them. But hope soon was slowly coming back to me, because of the view outside window. --- I am shit at giving descriptions. But I honestly WOULD NOT recommend this book I was like 13-14 when I wrote it and had no clue what I was doing
