a hip hop group of five black men ; ice cube , dr dre , eazy e , mc ren , and dj yella from compton california set the world off by storm talking about their reality of being black. as well as dealing with things such as racism , policy brutality  , weapons , fights , and so much more. 

o'shea aka ice cube meets cousin of andre aka dr dre ; aysia young. aysia has always had a super strong relationship with eazy , ren , yella , and of course her older cousin dre. though , aysia's never met o'shea ; she's heard of him but she never really met him.

when they do meet , they instantly click and things start off really well between the two. they try to convince themselves that they don't have feelings for each other but that doesn't exactly go as plan. 

aysia's dad ; dre's uncle was beaten , then shot dead by the LAPD. it never affected dre that much , but it definitely hurt aysia. aysia's been affected by it for so long , when she hears the first few bars of 'fuck tha police' she knew they would be a hit since they've been through the same thing her father went through ; racism & police brutality.
