They say rejection is a part of growing up. It's an unavoidable and painful experience that everyone has gone through at least once in their life. The reason why it's so painful is because it communicates the sense to somebody that they're not loved or wanted, or appreciated in the way they wanted to be.

However, some say it's just a temporary feeling and that it makes you mentally stronger and more self-aware.

But, it definitely didn't make me. And the suffocating feeling stayed with me much longer than it should.
