"Time is not able to be seen, but it is the most fragile thing in the universe,"

The house of Darlington has been sitting upon its hill for decades, centuries even. And it has housed the same residents for the last 500 years. Cornelius Darlington resides within the walls of the empty estate with his family, all of which never age. His proper father remains in his 50 year old state while his mother's soul is contained in her 30s. And his grandparents, uncle, aunt, and cousin, it's all the same. They are to forever remain on the earth.

Perhaps nothing would of changed, the routines of the family that they have kept for hundreds of years, if not for the peculiar people that arrived on their doorstep.

*Vampires? Nope, there is a more reasonable, sciency sort of reason ^^*

E28 held the entire world within his orange ethereal glowing hands. To most people, being twenty-four years old for all eternity, sounds like a pretty sweet deal. No elderly body aches, your sex drive remains on 100%, and you'll forever be in the prime of your life. Well, in their quest for scientific breakthroughs, our brilliant, overachieving ancestors unknowingly rewrote the entire genetic playbook for our bloodline-long before I was even conceived. By running experiments on themselves, they inadvertently spliced and hardcoded their DNA with something not even they fully understood. The result? Earl Williams the 28th. Born with a delightful grab bag of 5th-dimensional (5D) abilities, including, but not limited to, immortality. And I know what you're thinking. 'Wow! Immortality? That's incredible!' Well, let's see if you feel the same way after falling in love with your soulmate, watching them grow old and die, while you just keep on, existing. Turns out, eternal youth isn't all it's cracked up to be. In fact, it can be less of a gift, and more of a life sentence. Just after Earl's 400th birthday he discovered his 5th dimensional abilities could take him pretty far; literally. As in intergalactic travel. Over time he met other interdimensional beings. Such as Draco, a powerful 4D being who motioned for the ICU to immediately annihilate all of humanity, in order to give Earth time to rebuild its natural resources. Initially, the Intergalactic Chamber of the Universe granted Draco permission to follow through with his murderous plan. However, Earl stepped in and pleaded for humanity's relocation instead of their annihilation. You see Earl himself was earth born. Only as a teenager, did he discover his 5D abilities. He saw the progress humanity had been making. He knew they had learned from their past environmental failures. In his opinion, the people of Earth didn't have to die. All they needed was a new start on a different planet.

After the Doctor is alerted to time distortion and high levels of entropy, the Time Lord’s investigation lead’s him to the planet Verdopolis, where after countless time experiments to halt the progression of time, time is literally running out for the rest of the Universe. The whole of reality is threatened and it’s up to the Doctor to save everyone but he’s going to need a little help from some old friends. And one of those friends just so happens to be Anna Bailey who after three years is still struggling to adjust to life after the Doctor, haunted by her stalled life, unable to understand her destiny and why the mystery man who Anna is supposed to continue her family line with hasn’t materialised into her world yet. Though there’s one man about to drop back into Anna’s world as an exhilarating and scary adventure awaits the Doctor and his former companion who are joyfully and triumphantly reunited to save the Universe from a premature end. The eighth in an eight part story arc featuring Matt Smith's Doctor. “Alfred…I don’t like to rush you old chap but I came here very much hoping for some advice…A little brain storming session and the sharing of knowledge perhaps.” The Doctor stood up, a bundle of nervous energy though mainly because the sentient couch had become frisky and was undulating beneath him. “Time’s running out, literally running out, the whole Universe will soon be caught up in this time acceleration which has originated from Verdopolis. If we don’t do something soon, the Universe will have descended into a state of irretrievable chaos, you’re talking expansion, heat death, all the stars going out…The Universe ending billions of years before it’s time.”

❖2021 Watty Awards Shortlist❖ Kevin was just a normal 10 year old kid until he saw a woman vanish right before his eyes. This made Kevin just a little bit different. He paid more attention to people now. Little did he know that this little difference would kill him the next time he encountered another alien about to return home. It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.
