Months after moving back to the hometown they once fled, Freya - Rey - Herwick notices that a string of murders are occurring. Right before these mysterious deaths, Rey runs into their childhood best friend-turned-enemy, Charlotte, who is now going by a different name and seems to be harboring a number of dark secrets. Despite their rocky platonic - and possibly romantic - past, they decide to team up to investigate the homicides. Through their exploration, they end up unraveling so much more, including personal histories and secrets they both have been trying to run from.
