Grace Matthews yearns to break away from her small hometown. On the day of her 18th birthday, she embarks on a road trip that will launch her into adulthood. However, one lesson she quickly learns is that life doesn't always go the way you plan it.

Abducted by a religious family with cult-like ideals, Grace finds herself facing the unimaginable while struggling to maintain her own faith, and her sanity.

As reluctancy becomes evident in one of her captors, will she fight like hell to redeem him or is he merely a blue-eyed devil in disguise?

This story sucks, don't read it! It's amazing how quickly your life can change. In a slow town like this, where nothing exciting ever happens, where nothing ever changes, one single moment can alter your life forever, for better, or for worse. Sometimes, we're lucky enough to be able to recognise these particular moments, and take a leap of faith, but, more times than not, they just happen without us even realizing what's going on until it's already too late. Tonight, a simple Saturday night, just like any other, would turn out to be one of the most defining moments of my life. Ace is living a slow life, knowing nothing other than drinking with his friends and the motorcycle club that raised him, waiting to reconnect with his father who has just been released from prison after a fifteen year sentence. Life is simple, though he thought. Until the night he meets Jenna, running from her haunting past and the man that she is desperately trying to escape. Ace is dead set on protecting Jenna, but, as she slowly learns to trust him enough to open up to, he finds himself landing in the middle of a human trafficking operation and a feud that goes way back, between the ringleader and his club. Suddenly, life doesn't seem so simple... Work in progress, especially the blurb! This story has content which may offend some readers. Mild coarse language! Physical and sexual violence! Lots of drug references! First draft! I don't own the cover image! I'm a disappointment to my family!

As I leave, the cold British wind greets me. I zip up my sweater, and start walking home. Thanks to my parents, I don't have a car. "You're too irresponsible for a car, Courtney. You can always save up for one once you leave this house," my father had scoffed when I asked him. I walk at a fast pace, hoping to avoid any random strangers lurking in the dark streets. "Hey, darling. What are you doing all alone in the dark?" I hear a voice ask. I pick up his deep, British accent. I ignore him, and start jogging. Just a few more streets... I hear his swift feet, and he grabs me from behind, pressing a wet cloth on my face. He drags me behind a building. My muffled screams are the only noise in the silent night. I try to break from his strong, yet careful hold. I wiggle under his grip, but he only lets out a sigh. "Shhhhh...don't scream...everything will be alright...shhhh..." he whispers. I feel warm tears slide down my face, and my eyesight blurs, and I stop screaming and escaping. The last thing I see are the swaying trees. Then... DARKNESS... ✯✯✯✯✯ 19-year-old Courtney Thompson hates her life. From her annoying stepmother, to her overprotective father. The only thing that keeps her alive is her brother and reading. A stalker. ✯Will she fall for him, even if he kidnapped her?✯ ✯Will she find out the countless secrets that he hides?✯ ✯Will she escape?✯ Will she fall victim to... The first chance she gets, Corrine Whitman tries to escape from the man who abducted her. But when James catches her, she has to deal with his bizarre guilt trip. Doesn't she enjoy his company, the game nights, stimulating conversations? Doesn't she know how lucky she is to be taken by a caring man instead of a psycho? He tells her he can't live without her. He won't live without her. But Corrine has to get home to her father. So, she has a new tactic--earn James's trust and enjoy her new family--or at least pretend. If Corrine plays the game, she'll be given freedom to leave the house, just like other women she's met who were kidnapped. Corrine can't fathom how so many women and children are taken and live seemingly normal lives with their captors all across the country. But she can relate--she's one of them. Corrine plots the perfect escape. Yet, the more time she spends with James, the harder it is to leave. She knows she's suffering from Stockholm syndrome, but she is determined to save herself and the others. And if she escapes? Corrine knows no one has ever left alive-she has to be the first.
