Since Emery Journalane was young, she already had imprinted in her mind that she would never commit to a relationship with a uniformed personnel partner. She knew that most of them are unfaithful to their partners. Her father is a retired commercial pilot, and once cheated on her mother. Her uncle and cousins are pilots too, and they did to their partners what Emelane's father did to her mother. However, she trusted Galan so much, her long time boyfriend, that she didn't mind if he wanted to become a police officer, which also necessitated wearing a uniform, because she reasoned out that it's not the profession that matters, but the person itself.

Little did Emelane know, her boyfriend, who she trusted the most, already working on breaking her into pieces.

But despite the pain that she's been through, she never thought she would fall in Anthony's trapped. Aside from Anthony being a co-pilot of the plane where she's working, she already knew that Anthony is off limits. A womanizer and not a serious relationship type man will eventually save her from drowning in pain.
