When an unexpected destination with a haunting past greets Ally, she realises that she has been running from her family's truth. It takes a close community and the head-over-heels love of local surfer boy, Miles Starwood, to understand that life is not always the romantic image as shown on a canvas.
Ally must open herself up to love, and read the stories as told on her paintings.

He moved towards me, trapping me against the car door as his lips traced over my jaw, down to my neck. "This," he whispered, his thumb tracing the waistband of my jeans, making my breathing falter. "Allowing myself to feel this happiness, to feel you...this is me forgiving myself." He kissed me, calming the raging storm in me and igniting a new one. "The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life.
