By tapping into the unused portion of one's brain, they are able to immerse the player into a world unlike any other game played before. As real as if they were actually there, the Rift program sends the player into their own mind in a world with infinite possibilities, where each decision can drastically change the gameplay.
Wren Xavier, the CEO of Altmis, goes into the first program of the Rift, Athalos, to test it. Athalos is a massive world of magic and strife set in the genre of medieval fantasy. When he decides to become a Millen, he unknowingly chooses to become the hero of the story, able to wake the mystical swords Phoenix and Gyr and save Athalos from the savage faction of the Lancers, bent on destroying the kingdom. Will he be able to figure out how this new world works, build friendships along the way and save the world he has created?
