"ajax." is an alternate universe (au) wherein Tartaglia a.k.a Childe, is the flirtatious volleyball captain of a known team 'red jings' in Shibuya. Their volleyball manager "y/n" is a hopeless romantic, hiding her true feelings for him.

One day, when the team is on their way to compete, Childe meets his rival, Zhongli, the volleyball captain of the team 'heise de morax'. Zhongli was known as a cold person who was into annoying people, and knowing Childe, he is easily annoyed and would make Zhongli the happiest person on earth. Noticing that their pretty little manager was all shy whenever she approaches Childe, Zhongli then came up with a plan to annoy the hell out of Childe, and he will need her to make this successful.
