Imagine meeting your own fictional characters. Clara Lodge loves writing her own world of mischief and mystery, until one day she gets an unexpected job offer at a library. 
Messing with the wrong person, Clara gets sucked inside her own story she wrote. Now interacting with her characters of spies and thieves, she accidentally falls in love with her main character. But she has to find a way back home. With help from her characters, and running away from a wretched Lord Silas Kai who wants her for some strange reason, Clara becomes the main character in her own story. Now that she lived out her fantasy, does she really want to leave?
