Wren is a college student enjoying her last summer break before starting her senior year in the upcoming fall. To start off her first day of break, she takes a walk along the trails of a lake nearby her house. While resting on top of a bluff overlooking the lake, she discovers a box hidden in some nearby brush with a letter inside reading, "Give one, Take one. Feel free to leave a note." Thinking it would be fun to try, Wren takes from the box and leaves a bracelet of hers in return, along with a thank you note. When she goes on a walk again a few days later, she checks the box to see a new note and her bracelet exchanged with another object. She continues to exchange objects and notes over the summer with the mysterious owner of the box. One day, the box disappears without warning. Looking through the items and notes gathered over the summer, Wren searches for clues, hoping to discover a way to reconnect with the box owner. Will Wren ever get to meet her pen pal in person, or will she only have their letters and exchanged objects to remember them by?

Completed!! -- I could hear him running behind me. "HELP!" I started to scream the words repeatedly. I felt like I was the stupid, helpless girl in a horror film. I ran right into a fence and fell down. I got back up and turned around. Blake was right there. He pinned me up against the wood. "You are so stupid!" He chuckled. He grabbed a bottle of some sort and smiled. "Nighty night." He whispered. He sprayed the substance all over me until I blacked out. -- 16 year old Cathy moves from a small Rhode Island town to the big Austin, Texas.
