Rushane Reid was born and raised by a single parent, who worked minimum-wage in the rural area of Jamaica. Sophia Donaldson fought hard to ensure her children had the best of life, despite the challenges as a single mother. At the age of twenty, Rushane decided to walk the journey as a police officer after not being able to attend college as his twin brother did. Having dreamt of being a Police Officer since his childhood, he went ahead and pursued a career in the Jamaica Constabulary Force. Unfortunately, what he assumed was his ideal career changed after his journey started. What he thought was a noble institution, one he would be respected to be part of, was much different than he had dreamed. Instead he encountered on all sides conflict and strife. Rushane experienced oppression, depression, and just wanted to escape the hands of it all. But, trapped, he could not.
