19-year-old Akwasi Appiah has spent his entire life struggling in a small fishing town on the coast of Ghana. But all that comes to a surprising end when he's offered a scholarship to study in one of the best private universities in the country.

Penfield University is home to The Sharks, and being a passionate swimmer, Akwasi ventures out to join this swim team, reuniting with his childhood friend, Ethan. Thrown head first into the struggles of uni life, Akwasi tries his best to juggle his academics, swim meets, as well as his affection for a certain ambitious club president, who he may not even stand a chance with. And as if handling the herculean task of love isn't enough, jealously finds its way into Akwasi's life when he winds up as a tough competitor for Ethan in the battle for the title of Penfield's Greatest Swimmer.

Some may argue that in sports, a little competition is good... until it results in an innocent person's death, then the whole story changes. And as investigations are conducted and confessions are made, Akwasi soon realises that some friendships are worth more than titles and medals.

In the bustling city of Harbor, two rival universities vie for dominance in the fiercely competitive world of collegiate swimming. At Eastfield University, Ava Morgan is the determined and disciplined team captain, living a life shaped by heteronormative expectations. Across town at Westlake University, Lena Brooks, the confident and openly lesbian captain, is ready to lead her team to victory once again. When their paths cross, an unexpected and confusing attraction ignites within Ava, challenging her previously unquestioned beliefs about her sexuality. Lena, both a rival and an inspiration, offers Ava a glimpse of the courage it takes to live authentically. Amidst the pressure of competitions, strained friendships, and lingering ex-relationships, Ava must navigate her burgeoning feelings and the challenges that come with them. In a world where every second counts, Ava and Lena will discover that love can surface in the most unexpected places, challenging them to be true to themselves and each other. Will their rivalry turn into a deeper connection, or will the tides of competition and self-doubt pull them apart? Wet is a compelling lesbian romance that dives deep into the complexities of identity, love, and the fierce spirit of competition.
