The Vicissitudes of Life - XiYao [EN]

After the final showdown in Guanyin Temple, in which Jin Guangyao's golden core is crushed due to an attack by the fierce corpse Nie Mingjue, he gets imprisoned by the Nie Clan. His destiny will be determined during a conference, attended by all sect leaders, which is to take place after the last snow has melted.

Instead of going back to Cloud Recess with his brother, Lan Xichen decides to enter seclusion in an attempt to leave the past behind. Keeping himself occupied with mundane tasks and meditation, days seem to pass within the blink of an eye. Until one particular day - during a snow storm - in which Lan Xichen encounters an unexpected guest.

a/n - Usually I only release the "finished, polished product" but I'm currently in the process of writing many books and I just have this urge to finally, finally publish something. So here we are: these are the raw chapters, getting posted in "real time". I'll edit the chapters after finishing the book. The story is kind of planned through, but there's always the chance that things won't work out like they were planned... or that Lan Xichen and Meng Yao will take fate into their own hands... we'll see (:
