I passed out and he left me there. I woke up at in my room. I just heard the doctor pronounce me dead. I sat straight up. I heard my mother scream as she ran to hug me. I remember feeling the urge to bite her. I left that day and hid in the shadows" Penelope is a 19th century vampire. She still has problems controlling herself around blood. She makes a friend named Karlee. Karlee's brother knows her secret. So does Elliot, who is also a vampire. Having just graduated, Penelope is ready to kick back and enjoy her last summer before college starts. However, a few things stand in her way. First, there's the fact that Xavier and Gray have both sent her vague emails that maybe, possibly, mean "want to go out with me." So when some unknown guy begins to chat her up through her car window, and then goes on to watch her as she drives away, she does what she's been taught: she goes to the cops. However, this turns out to be the least suspicious thing to occur in the following week.
