The Boy In The Room Next Door

He is so close now, and my wrist is still held captive, with a pulse so fast he can surely feel it thumping against his palm. We are pressed together, somehow closer than we had been when he helped me down onto the bed, and I am not sure now if my body is still tingling with residual numbness from my unsettled sleep or for another, very different, reason. His free hand has found my neck, and he winds his fingers between the roots of my hair, his thumb stroking against my cheek. He moves closer, and his nose brushes against mine. I do not intend to, but I can feel my eyes flutter shut, and my mouth falls open slightly. I can't say anything. If I speak, if I breath, I will ruin this. And even though a day ago I would have pushed him away, now I'm pretty sure I don't want this to be ruined. I'm pretty sure I want him to keep going.

Lou is twenty-three, works as a real-estate receptionist and lives with her best friends Vanessa and Connor in a tiny apartment. She is a self-described serial dater, and keeps a little black book dedicated to recording all of her romances and why they inevitably go wrong. But when she, Vanessa, and Connor move into the little house on Dudley Street, something intangible changes. Suddenly, Lou doesn't want to write in her little black book anymore, and she's not sure if it's because she's growing up, or because she's just growing some serious attraction to the boy who lives in the room next door. Some serious attraction that is reminding her of their very serious history together....

"The Boy in the Room Next Door" is the story of three young romantics who all need to grow up in their own way, and the endless hijinks of a first share-house.
