In the more than a century since Vezdel last set foot in the land, his parents intended him to rule. Many things have changed.
As a result of a treacherous king, his old flame, and his cousin, he has no desire to return to a land that has forced him to question everything he has ever known. But when he is summoned to the castle of Visimin for a talk with the royals regarding their young son, everything he thought he knew about his lineage comes into question.
After all, how do you save someone who tells you they are not worth saving? As Vezdel goes on his quest as an assassin to the king and queen of his new land, he learns that no matter how long-lived you are there are still things that can be learned through blood and tears.
