It's Swift, Penny, Rod, and Brody. It's time for another one of their Top Wing missions. This mission is supposed to last for a few days, and the cadets are put to work with their rivals. But... right after the first day, one of the cadets goes missing. The others then question whether to trust their new inspectors, while struggling to keep things peaceful between each other.

A week before all of this, on a faraway island named Hummingbird Peak, cadets Rover, River, and Ivy have just been announced that the mission was going to take place. But when they find out that the purpose of the mission was to get rid of the mysterious, cursed dodo birds haunting their island, things change. Rover, who had encountered the mysterious birds before, is afraid of seeing them again. River, whose mother forbade him to go near them, is put off. And Ivy, who is left after the two other cadets' condition, struggles to impress her teachers and assure herself that she is worthy enough to stay a cadet, and brave enough to go on the mission herself.

After barely fighting off a fleet of Galra ships, Voltron lands on the planet Toumia that is surrounded by three suns, humbly expecting thanks, gratitude, and food. Not necessarily in that order. However, as soon as they land on the ground, the leader of the Ibhe Htua, Pedagogue Tuaste, tells them that they did a good job, but there's a lot to learn before they even have a hope of defeating Zarkon and his evil empire. Grudgingly, they accept her offer to train them. However, a new threat to the universe arises soon after they land on Toumia, one that is completely unrelated to Zarkon and the Galra Empire. One of the many societies on the planet with purple grass has developed a way to help the universe, but the Voltron Team knows that this will do anything but help the universe, and that they must stop it at all costs. Together, the five Paladins make up Voltron, Defender of the Universe. And what do defenders of the universe do? They defend it. * * * The timeline for this fanfiction within seasons 1-2 of VLD are unknown, for reasons that will be clear by the end of this particular fanfiction. As such, the characters will know how to do certain things, and not know other things. Because of this, there will be spoilers for some things but not others, and seeing as this happens somewhere within the spacetime between the episodes of seasons 1 and 2. It's weird. Hang with me, it'll all make sense by chapter sixteen. Maybe fifteen. I haven't written that far out yet. But that's when the real problems began. You see, Hat Kid had to leave with their best friend who's like a sibling to them, Bow Kid. The two kids had to leave to head back home. And when they did, everyone was heartbroken and a few people had returned back to their old ways. Snatcher being cold and distant, looking for number one(I.E, himself.), Mafia Boss was gifted a robotic body to inhabit for the meantime while dealing with pesky Mu, beating up his mafia men, and last, but not least, the two birds from Dead Bird Studio; Conductor and DJ Grooves. What is to happen if things fall apart? Like, Vanessa kidnapping Snatcher, integrating him on WHY he left her when he is HER prince which causes havoc on the other areas of the world.
