Proud student of Celestia, young colt Irradiance enjoys playful adventures with his friends. One fateful day, Irradiance's curiosity leads him and the other students into the forbidden Everfree Forest, where the colt is drawn to a withered, corrupted crystal tree. Upon touching it, he becomes encased in crystals, paralyzing him. Although he manages to free himself, his horn and hooves remain crystallized, alienating him from his peers. Devastated by the rejection and bullying that follows, Irradiance retreats to live in the Everfree Forest, where he becomes known as the mysterious "Crystal Beast." Years later, a group of skeptical ponies venture into the forest and encounter the reclusive Irradiance, leading to a journey of self-discovery, friendship, and a quest to cure his crystal curse. However, unbeknownst to them, a cunning Changeling Queen has sinister plans that could alter their destinies forever.
Will Irradiance find the cure to this mysterious curse? Or will the ponies fall victim to a greater evil?
