They had stopped. The tremors. The screams of fright. They stopped. Yet the smell of dead Titans lingered in the air. Yet it wasn't over. Eren... isn't dead.
"Ezlyn! Mikasa! Pieck! Get on Falco! We're getting out of here!" Levi orders. Ezlyn's eyebrows furrow as she grips onto Jean's arm.
"What?" Falco utters, sounding confused. She was just as in the dark as he was, until she noticed the steam.
"What are you... talking about?!" Pieck asks, just as motified as the other four.
"Ackermans and shifters are an exception. You should know what to do." The dark haired man reminds her.
"No way... that's-"
"Hurry!" Levi interrupts Ezlyn. She looks up in horror at her best friend, Jean. He smiles gently as his honey-eyes glisten with tears.
"Please... no..." Ezlyn pleas as she looks up at him, shaking her head with tears already streaming from her eyes. Jean bends down to her level as a lone tear falls from his eye.
"I'm sorry." He pulls her into a final hug. "Just know, that I've always loved you, beyond friendship." He pushes the hair off her forehead and plants a shakey yet gentle kiss above one of her eyebrows. "I love you."
She was speechless. But, before she could return anything, he pushes her towards Levi who pulls her onto the flying Titan. It takes off and Ezlyn pulls against Levi's grip.
"Jean! Connie! NO!" She screams at the top of her lungs. But, they didn't hear her. They were already Titans.
