18 year old Hachiro Kurosawa and 10 year old Kaya Kobayashi where born in the slums and where attacked during the war of devastation. in order to protect Hachiro from the soldiers. his parents engraved a death curse on Hachiro. giving him the power of Narazumono, the weapon of darkness. Hachiro used this power to also protect helpless 4 year old Kaya during the time. however Narazumono grew greedy and wanted to take over Hachiro's body to once again have a solid form. but Kaya used a forbidden purity technique to seal him inside Hachiro. having used this forbidden technique she became blind. now the duo travel the world in order to find what they need to break the death curse. to free Hachiro and to restore Kaya's eyesight.
