Every day at work, a young nurse with obsessive-compulsive disorder must stare her greatest fear in the eye: the loss of mental faculties that so often comes with old age. The strange, dark world of confusion and helplessness that her patients live in is terrifying. Without her compulsive behaviors, she is overwhelmed by the fear that she is destined for a similar fate. Nevertheless, she returns each day to do battle with Dementia, the awful condition that her elderly patients must live with for the rest of their lives.

The Shadow of Death
The intense feeling of knowing someone close is about to die fills her body everyday. His job is to simply guide and comfort them to their final resting place. He walks alongside an elder lady passing the rooms of other patients in the hospital. As he passes her room their eyes meet. "Did she just see me," he wonders as he walks back to her room to see. "Those eyes, why is he here now though," she asks herself as she stands from her bed and walks to the hall. Their eyes lock as they meet at the doorway and they barely stop each other from hitting.
