After the passing of Leon's mother, she feels obligated to move across the country to live with her father. With her father as king, Leon is to maintain her reputation while simultaneously tending to her responsibilities as princess. While she understands her expectations, that doesn't mean she will always follow them. 

Adonis is expected to live a life that is not his- one dripping in gold and success. With a father on his death bed, he was forced to grow up at a young age and play the roles of both king and prince.

When they find each other away from the public eye and on the same terrace, Leon and Adonis both realize they are playing roles not meant for them.
