I hear the the front door close, and I sigh in response. Again? Why is he going out this late at night? I know father is "non-stop" but I wouldn't have expected him to be out this late at night. I'll have to tell Theodosia this in the morning. She's been helping me figure why my father (Alexander Hamilton) has been so secretive lately, especially since his friend John Laurens has come to visit for a couple of months.

In this story is based after the war, and john and Philip don't die.
