When abuse and neglect went too far did little Ruby Rose flee from her small home in Patch. After reaching a forest near Vale, she stumbled upon a strange gate and after passing through it, she saw a shrine like house. From there Ruby will be trained in the ways of ALHAYA and learn to fight for her dreams, but forces lurking in the void will rise to challenge her as the black queen moves her pieces for war.

Due to Qrows' semblance and a messy end to they're relationship, He was mostly absent but he did try to be there for the children when he could. But everything soon went down hill when Summer disappeared. The children where heartbroken but Tai, saddened and enraged at Summers disappearance began to take his frustrations out on the children. Y/N would try to make the most of it, and protect Yang and Ruby from Tais' wrath, often times taking a beating and going without food for days. As time went on Tai got increasingly worse, and Y/N became the sole target of abuse. Yang and Ruby would try to help as best they could but it wasn't enough, Y/N could bare it no more.
