Dayana Elizabeth Walker o Daya, es la protagonista de un mundo en el que todo es monótono, las personas son comunes, ella simplemente se siente vacía pero tiene un problema claro de emociones , no tiene claro muchas cosas, y como persona se contradice.
Ella consta de gran inteligencia, casi siempre pasa en su habitación leyendo libros en especial su favorito "Qui sui-je?" De un escritor anónimo, ella ve a los escritores y filósofos como personas distintas al resto, personas que tienen una forma única de pensar.
la mayoría del tiempo esta sola, ya que no tiene amigos, sus padres trabajan y a ella no le agrada mucho la idea de salir.

Welcome to the life of a teenager - she's loud, rambunctious, and most likely failing her classes.
