George has had a crush on Dream for the longest time. He obviously knows that if he confesses, Dream will reject him.
All those memories the two had, will be gone. He doesn't want to ruin their friendship, but that was until he starts to have sweet dreams of him.
He knows it was some type of signal to confess, even his gut was telling him to do so. He listened to his dreams, and didn't believe the answer Dream had given him.

Dream and George used to be best friends when there were little kids but Geroge's family moved away and he ended up forgetting about Dream, but Dream never forgot his best friend.
