Mak spent most of her childhood with her caretaker until she was 8 when her village was destroyed and Hunters discovered her and killed everyone. Mak managed to get away before she was taken. Safe for the time being, the young Makena lived in the swamp lands of Louisiana, rebel by nature and wild child.
Makena managed to acquire certain skills that lead her to her current employment. She works for the government most days in helping find certain artifacts but on her days off she plays the jewel thief, a cat burglar if you will.
