A fearful sea turtle embarks across the Pacific Ocean in a dangerous race against time to honor her liver's dying wish.
Java the sea turtle has been terrified her whole life and has never left the safety of land with the other sea turtles. When a monsoon and volcanic eruption create the perfect storm one day, Java is forced out to sea. There she makes friends and gets captured by vicious, turtle eating cannibals. While captured, she falls for leatherback and bad boy turtle, Manila. His dying wish: Find The Pure Land and raise his young there.
Will she find the mysterious "Pure Land" before giving birth? Can she overcome her fear of the sea and ocean? Will she survive? Or will she be doomed to fail?
