Invasion. An unwelcome intrusion into another's domain. That was the definition, according to most of the dictionaries. One synonym they all seemed to have left out was Bella Ledford. A doctor. A neurosurgeon. More specifically, the new Head of Neuro at Seattle Grace Mercy West.

Following the tragic events of the plane crash that left doctors severely injured and deceased, Ledford's appearance only seemed to make matters worse. Ridding the world-renowned neurosurgeon, Derek Shepherd, of his title as department head did all but calm the chaos.

Standing on the outside, Bella finds herself alone and lonely. Her ultimate goal had always been to teach. To practice medicine. To leave her mark. Will she really let other people ruin this for her? Or will she take what she can get? Even if that comes in the form of another human being. Another doctor. A plastic surgeon. The Head of Plastics, and soon to be chairman of the newly renamed institution, Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Mae Wigan never expected to actually become a surgeon after she left the army. Yes she did the training, yes she loved the job. But she expected to coast a while, find her footing, not complicate things. Its a shame she moved to Seattle where things seem to be the most complicated. In swoops Jackson Avery, stirring a part of this soldiers heart she didn't know existed. But isn't true loved overrated? Matilda won't get another happy ending, will she?
