Princess Eloise grew up in a poor, spiritless kingdom under the reign of her step father. She knows that once, Rokenmeine was a beautiful place: abundant, rich, and always full of music. She wants to become queen so that she can restore it to what it once was, but there are deeper things than poverty tearing at the kingdom. She wonders if her mother, who is said to have died in her sleep, was actually murdered. Despair is rooted in the land; a rebellion is taking seed deep in the forest. And perhaps most pressing of all, the copy of the law that dictates when Eloise can inherit the throne is missing, shamelessly torn out of the record book.

This is a story about uprising and despair, and about mystery slinking through broken people's lives... but it's also simply the journey of a lonely girl searching for a family.

Thanks to my friend Barbara for making the cover for me!

{COMPLETED} The stars disappeared seventeen years ago. A black night sky has mirrored a bleak existence for the people of Auros. The Gifted, humans with unique abilities to affect the world around them, have all but become extinct thanks to the dark reign of a usurper. And somehow Zephyr Elvy has managed to live her nineteen years in the blissful quiet of a small town next to the sea. Zephyr has always been content to keep to herself, and happy to live a simple, if uneventful, life. If only the universe had that in mind for her. Forced to flee the only place she has ever called home, Zephyr finds herself running through a world she has only ever read about, along with two soldiers who have deserted their posts to keep their consciences clean. With only a letter and a mysterious weapon as clues to why she's being hunted, Zephyr must face her own fears while discovering a whole new world of terrors at the hands of a queen she knows next to nothing about. Having never risked anything her entire life, Zephyr is forced to choose between apathy or action, hiding and keeping to herself, as she has always done, or taking a leap that could change the world she is just now getting to see. ***** Thank you SO MUCH for reading! I'm updating every Monday until this story is done, and I've been sitting on this one for almost three years so I'm really excited to finish it! I don't have any beta readers for this as I write, so please let me know if you notice anything, and I mean ANYTHING, that needs fixing! :)

EDITING I hated the society and it's norms which were bestowed upon us from the day we were born and were required to be followed till our death. Unlike other girls of my village, I would rather ride horses and climb trees than gossip about boys or frilled dresses.I was a rebel, someone who never followed these rules. But all that changed after the decree was issued. ' I, Queen Apolla, Queen of Aramanda, Lady of the Isle and mother of Prince Christopher and John, hereby issue a decree on all young maidens and men of the village of Frodangram of the age of fifteen , to report to the Creston Castle by the following day. To ensure that everyone is reported , I shall send carriages to collect all those of age. No one of age should be left behind , if so , report to the castle immediately without further delay and if anyone is found violating the decree issued , the violator shall be sentenced to lifetime imprisonment. Her majesty , Queen Apolla ' Suddenly , I was surrounded by all those who followed these etiquettes as though they were a part of their lives. Women blindly obeyed men , without questioning even a single right, men were taught to be agressive and tough while us women were taught to be submissive, gentle , docile and obdient. I may not be a princess who could issue laws and enforce them on people but I am rebel , I could influence them........ All Rights Reserved. I glare at him, yanking at the bonds. He laughs softly. "Oh princess, you're so delicate. Do not struggle, we wouldn't want you to break, would we?" He whispers. I snarl at him but he's right, I'm sick and weak at the moment and the cold rain isn't helping matters. I turn away, coughing and choking on blood, but swallow it quickly, not wanting anyone to know my state. He smirks slightly. "Why are you so cruel?" I ask curious at his behavior. In the Castle I was kept away from the outside world by my parents, who told me of the dangers that lurk in it. However the servants and the cooks, who lived outside the protective wall of the Castle, always seemed like good people. "Cruel," he scuffs. "I am not cruel. Your kind is. Sitting in your castle, while families starve, homes burned to the ground because the blasted taxes are too high to pay. Cruelty, my dear Princess, is a word you and your family are all too familiar with." His words felt like a slap in the face. He can not be speaking truth. The kingdom loves my parents and they would never allow their people to starve. #384 in Historical Fiction 3/27, #361 in Historical Fiction 3/28, #312 in Historical Fiction 3/30, #291 in Historical Fiction 4/8, #287 in Historical Fiction 4/9, #285 in Historical Fiction 4/10, #265 in Historical Fiction 4/24, #256 in Historical Fiction 5/7, #225 in Historical Fiction 5/13. #218 in Historical Fiction 5/15, #119 in Historical Fiction 5/17, #112 in Historical Fiction 5/26, #95 in Historical Fiction 5/27, #83 in Historical Fiction 5/31, #67 in Historical Fiction 6/1, #53 in Historical Fiction 6/15, #26 in Historical Fiction 6/23, #20 in Historical Fiction 6/25, #16 in Historical Fiction 6/26, #13 in Historical Fiction 7/2, #10 in Historical Fiction 7/8, #5 in Historical Fiction 7/10, #12 in Historical Fiction 9/2, #13 in Historical Fiction 9/4, #7 in Historical Fiction 9/5, #5 in Historical Fiction 9/6, #7 Historical Fiction 1/8
