People only believe something when they see it themselves, or if there's proof to it -or maybe if they're just naive and gullible. But what if all the signs that this something is real -that it can exist- is staring Uchiha Sasuke right in the eyes? All the hints, all the signs, all the begging done for him to believe that it was indeed there. He chose to ignore all those pleas. He couldn't, he refused to believe that such a thing could exist. It's not like it wasn't there, he was just being used and unreasonable.
