I marveled from my perch high in the trees at the way its coarse black fur shone in the final rays of light the sun could muster before it would be replaced by the moon. I marveled at the way it made no noise at all as it padded across the forest floor, a floor covered entirely in dead leaves. I marveled at the way its dark verdant eyes locked with mine as the broad head lodged itself deep inside its chest. I marveled at the way its howls split through the now dark forest. I marveled as it collapsed onto the cushion of leaves and moss beneath its now unsteady legs. I marveled as it shuddered and its eyes glossed over. I listened intently as it heaved its last breath, its heart, giving its final thump of life before subjecting itself to an afterlife as a cold, frozen stone. I marveled. ~ WARNING: This story may include mature content such as profanities, mature concepts and events, and sexual interactions. All Rights Reserved to @TakenAwaytotheDark

"I dreamed about you." she leaned closer, and I knew she was preparing herself to catch my reaction. "You were a wolf." I tried my best to hide my anxiety, and tried innocence. "A wolf?" I hope she didn't catch the tremor. "Mm-hm. A wolf. A were-wolf." She kept studying me. Was she actually considering it? C'mon, I just wanted a normal life! Don't tell me she had worked it out. "Remember when we talked about you running away from home? You called yourself a wolf." Ohhhh sh*t. Damn her and her memory. I closed my gaping mouth with a snap, and looked away. "Hey," she whispered. I closed my eyes. "I know this is crazy but... are you?" I glanced back, worried to high hell. "Am I what?" She sighed. "A were-wolf, are you a were-wolf." She looked tired, and I wondered what she was thinking. My voice was hoarse. "Maybe." She looked as if she had been just shocked with electricity. "What?" Oh sh*t. What was I doing? "Maybe." I repeated. She still looked shocked. "Maybe I'm a werewolf. Maybe I was that wolf you saw in the bush yesterday. What would you do if I was?" "I don't know. Are you pulling my leg?" She watched me warily, and I leaned in close. "No." I pressed my lips to hers, and felt her tremble. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Diana Wednesday thinks that she's just going to have a normal, care-free gap year, where she'll find a boyfriend, get a job and live a life, maybe with her BFF Pippa.
