Carina Deluca is a single mama to her 10 year old daughter Gabriella. Carina Deluca lived in Seattle for a few years but then had to move back to Italy to look after her papa, while she was there she realised that she was pregnant from a person who she was sleeping with back in Seattle. She had never decided to tell Gabriella who her father was or tell the father that she was pregnant in the first place. A couple of months ago Carina's dad had died so she had made the decision to move back to America to be close to the only relative she had left, her stupid baby brother dr Andrew Deluca.

Fire Captain Maya Bishop got ready for her shift at Station 19 and went to work just like every other shift she had done. However, during a call with her long-term girlfriend Dr Carina Deluca she heard what sounded like crying coming from outside the station. Upon further investigation, she discovered the noise was coming from a child. She took the child into her office and quickly formed a bond with them That's when Maya realised, this child was to be the next adventure in her life... Inspired by lovatic_f story "Maya's Next Step" (when coming up with the name for my story I didn't realise how similar they were until after I posted it) With that, I am in no way going to copy or steal their ideas. Kimberly Celeste is a 11 year old girl who ends up getting adopted by Maya and Carina, your probably thinking Maya saves her like most fanfic out there but no. I decided to do something different, Kimberly walks into the Station 19 Clinic in need of desperate medical attention and seeming as Carina hadn't been paged she was there, waiting for a patient and I'm pretty sure you can work out what happens from there.
