A Son

James Travers is a 12-year old dark- haired and brown-eyed boy living in Park Rapids, Minnesota in the fall of 1979. The son of an often drunk and physically abusive father named Chris, James (and occasionally, his dog Chelsea) often has to endure severe beatings when his father returns from the bar after getting off work and becoming drunk. This happens so often that it almost feels like a routine for James. However, one day, Chris goes over the edge.
