Season of Love and War

Rose Rogers' brother finally returns from his deployment across the pond, what she didn't expect was for him to bring along his friend, Sergeant Barnes.

It's bound to be a summer filled with surprises and excitement, especially with the Season's first gala coming up, the social elite lining up to court and be courted, and with Rose as a first time antendee, she is sure to catch the eyes of a few young men, maybe even more than that.

"That was impressive, doll". Rose whips her whole body around, looking for the source of the voice.

Leaning against the brick wall, under the ledge she just jumped from, stands a man. She runs her eyes up his body, scrunching her nose at the lit cigarette in his right hand before looking towards his face, noticing the hat he is wearing.

She quickly looks him up and down again, recognising the uniform her brother had been wearing earlier. Before she can stop herself, she takes a step towards him, "I'm not your doll."

"Rose?"

"Please don't tell my brother." She hates how her voice comes out like a squeak, but she can't help it. She can already see Sergeant Barnes grabbing her arm and dragging her back into the bar, to proudly show her brother how he just found his little sister somewhere she definitely isn't supposed to be.

"Your secret I safe with me, but you owe me."
