16 year old Artemis Baxter has seen some truly haunting things. She has witnessed the death of anyone she's ever considered a parent. She struggles in an adoption center, not wanting to call someone dad that isn't truly her father. Her roommate, Hannah, is the only person she trusts, the only person she has left. She refuses to talk to grief counselors, until she is finally forced to by the owner of the adoption center, Martin. It's not an easy road, but she finally finds peace in the world.
