It's 2018 and people think that the apocalypse has ended. Where cities, homes, businesses and humble towns once stood, now there lies only death, only destruction, only emptiness. Only the moans and the shuffles of the living dead. But in reality, it's only just begun.

And for two lonely boys, once separated from each other by dead-town states and not even aware of each other's existence, it's far from being over.

It's not about saving the world. It's about saving themselves.

"In the end, will you sink or swim?" - Legend has it, that in the murky waters of this cove, sirens lurk -- far out into the horizon and dark depths, awaiting their next victim to allure with their sickly-sweet lullaby. Residents claim that they can still hear the clinking of pickaxes down in the collapsed ruin of the mines, or chills rolling down their spines as spirits brush past them. The full truth is, that Kitsfort isn't quite your normal town... Frank's mother had claimed that the fresh air would help his lungs, and that maybe living by the ocean -- in a secluded, northern town where the sun only shone a whopping two months out of the year -- that, well, maybe he'd grow to like his new life here. Frank wasn't as optimistic about it all, though. Kitsfort was as gloomy as you could get, and all the damned talk of ghosts was about to drive him insane. He wanted out, and he wanted out fast. It doesn't help his case when his freaky, next-door neighbor keeps knocking asking for him -- each encounter leaving an icky, never-ending mush in Frank's gut, his suspicions falling thinner and thinner the more that the truth seems to be revealed, and as more seems to go wrong. And, well, when he finds his heart getting snagged on unwanted feelings towards this mysterious boy -- and as the alleged tree protecting this whole town from evil entities burns, he knows that this is all going to go to shit, and it's going to go to shit fast... A dark tale of a town with its secrets, murky mysteries and unsafe waters, the twisted beauty of death, and trying to escape the inevitable... [Inspired by Ghosts -- Raina Telgemeier]

"God, Gerard," he moaned, "Are you that oblivious?" Frank watched him nod with a shrug. He rolled his eyes and continued nonetheless, "I really like you. I just wanna be fucking normal!" He huffed rubbing his eyes, "I wanna do stuff that I would do if we were normal. Like fucking romance shit. Like holding hands on the roof and looking at stars. Or sing to my Pandora station while we clean parts of the church before Sunday. Or make out in the back of my car and listen to my favorite songs. And god I would kill to dance in the rain with you and not have to worry about anything. No vampire shit. No age gap. No fucking rumors. You know that half of this goddamn town knows about my love life?" He removed his hands from his eyes to stare at Gerard who was staring back intensely, "It sucks. Everything sucks. My fucking life sucks." TRIGGER WARNINGS: mentions of gore, mentions of loss, mentions of suicide, suicidal thoughts, and suicidal actions, MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH
