In this story we follow an anthropomorphic fox through the history of his nation. The Claddish, his people, are obsessed with the goal of regaining all the territory their ancestors once had lost, taking many brutal and challenging wars against Tribes and Kingdoms surrounding their Empire. During this story, we gain an insight on both the life of a soldier, and the life of citizens of that nation.

You died. I mean, it happened quite a bit during your lifetime. It wasn't anything different. However, instead of you waking up in the barracks again, you found yourself in a very odd place. A place where skin and fur were the same thing. "I hope I don't die too many times here." Bane the fox finally got the job of his dreams, being a royal healer; something he had wanted for so long to be able to support himself and his sister for they barely made enough money to scrape by after their parents had died. He expected himself to be able to keep up, to have ample magic to be able to preform his job as a healer in the castle. But he soon learns that his magic may be too weak, that only the most powerful and elite of the healers were able to keep up with the demanding work. He pushed himself through, thinking he might just be able to make it, even as his magic threatens to give out. But with a war on the horizon and an Arctic wolf that he is forced to complete an almost impossible mission with, he finds that the job may have included much more than he had signed up for. The Swan's Song.
Humanity has fallen before the Anthro races. Twenty years of war has reduced the human population to drastically low numbers, severe enough to warrant the Anthro races to "reposition" their stance on humanity despite an almost fanatical unwillingness to surrender. A war for extermination turns into a rescue mission overnight. Enter Sako Squad, comprised of six highly trained spec-ops soldiers for the Anthro Military. They have been tasked to locate and capture a famous and notorious human resistance fighter only known by the alias of "Swan." They can locate him, but will they be able to endure the future and everything it will bring when they take him in?

The world as we know it is at war, and with two very different species fighting for their goals to solve an issue that has been seen time and time again.
