Before the metroids and before the return to Zebes , there was the mission that sent Samus Aran on the journey to becoming a bounty hunter. 

On a final rescue mission as part of the galactic federation military, tragedy strikes which forces the young soldier, Samus Aran to make a decision that will change her life forever! Discover the rise of the bounty Hunter in this prequel story ! 

"Before" fleshes out and expands upon the brief cutscene in the game "Metroid other m" which gave players an insight into Samus final mission as a soldier . This story provides new context that serves to round out and complete the hexalogy of stories I have created.

The humans who landed on the little planet had nearly lost all hope until they stumbled upon unknown ancient ruins beneath the planet's surface where they discovered untold amounts of bizarre advanced technology. Earth and humanity were saved, and the little planet to thank for their salvation was named Umbra. Alice is a xenoarchaeologist, her passion in life has always been the study of ancient cultures, and now she has the opportunity to study the most ancient one of them all. The very one that modern Human civilization was built on. Alice and her boyfriend accepted a posting on the famous and ancient ship, the U.S.S.A Umbra.

This story is my idea of what a metroid movie would be like. The story is largely a retelling of Metroid Zero mission but with some of the backstory from the manga and Other m aswell. "Space pirates have stolen valuable cargo from the Galactic Federation. In retaliation the Galactic Federation have hired a bounty hunter to retrieve what was stolen.
