"You can't hide her from me anymore! She will belong to me Selene!" I heard the scary voice yell from the other side of the door. 

"Mommy, what's going on? Who are they? Who are they talking about?" I cried to my mother. 

I felt my mother grab me pulling me towards the opening in the bookcase. "Look at me little moon. You are more special than you know and I'm sorry I never explained to you. Your father and I just wanted to keep you safe."

Crack! My mothers head whipped to the door that was beginning to splinter under its attack. 

She turns back to me grabbing my face in her soft delicate hands. "I need you to run now. I need you to be brave and run as fast as you can to the blue mountain pack. Ask for Beta Benjamin. He will keep you safe. I love you." She leans down kissing my forehead gently before shoving me through the opening causing me to land on my bottom. 

I find my footing again and rush to the opening but it closes just as I reached it. 

"No mommy please don't leave me! Mommy! I cried banging my fist hard against the wall. I pressed my ear up to the wall to listen. 

"Where is she Selene!" I heard the scary voice roar out followed by a smacking sound and a thud against the floor. 

My mother chuckled fiercely. "You'll never have her."
