𝗔 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆... 𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁? Welcome to my fanfiction of Steven Universe: The Movie. The movie was released in 2019, and I wrote this story in 2022. Since then, I've been revising it, as my previous version had a lot of flaws - so please enjoy! 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗥! Steven Universe and all its characters belong to Rebecca Sugar and its respective owners - I claim no ownership over any of it. This is a reader-insert story set during the events of Steven Universe: The Movie. The core plot follows the film, but I've added a reader-insert character and original scenes throughout to weave her into the story as it happens. Please don't repost or copy this work elsewhere. Status:finished Ah, Lapis Lazuli. A beautiful gem with a kind, fun heart. You never thought you'd understand the human emotion 'happiness' until you met Lapis. You never thought you'd understand any 'emotion', to be honest. Up until now, you just couldn't understand. You didn't understand fusions and emotions. You had spent a eternity serving Yellow Diamond as a entertainer. Despite not understanding emotions, you loved her. She was your Diamond and no matter how much abuse she hurled at you, you had loved her more than anything.. Then she handed you down to her sister, Pink Diamond. Even though it had hurt you that she abandoned you, you had still thought things would be fine.. Until one day, people realized you were broken. They found out that you didn't understand fusing or emotions and said "well, as a entertainer you need to understand the acts you're performing! And a entertainer should be happy! It's part of their job! It's all a Tanzanite is!" And were going to shatter you.. Or so they thought. This story takes place sometime when season 5 is nearing it's end (I do not own the art used in the book. All rights go to the creators of the artwork.) (All rights to characters go to Rebecca Sugar. Nora is like most teenagers, at 16 years old she goes to school, has a group of close friends, loves music, works a part time job, and aspires to go to college to pursue her lifelong dreams. Living in the suburbs of Gardenville, Jersey she's grown up living the life of an average kid, surrounded by farmland, beaches, pristine parks, and a diner at every corner. Yet she is unlike anyone else. As the daughter of Steven Universe and Connie Maheswaran, the reputation of her father weighs heavily on her shoulders, a reputation she wants to break free of. From her gem side she inherited Pink Diamond's powers despite lacking a gemstone and her human side's autism sometimes makes it harder to understand other people. Both aspects are part of who she is and she embraces each , but her Diamond powers are forbidden by her parents. After a heated argument about using said powers, Nora flees to the mountains and witnesses an event that puts her life in danger, forcing her family to send her to Beach City to be under the protection of her Gem Aunts. Imagine Beach City. A normal city, normal people, normal society, a normal school. Or, at least, one can only assume so. Some might say that their school is abnormal because of the people in it. When we use the word "abnormal" to describe Beach City Middle School, we aren't lying. As gems, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Steven, and all the others have a bit of a hard time living normal lives. Whether they're respected or picked on because of their appearance, they all manage to get through... Most of it. The crystal gems, trying to hide their secrets to avoid further investigation, Steven and Connie, trying to live life to the fullest, Lapis and Peridot, trying to uncover as many secrets as possible, and Jasper and her gang, trying to be the best and most loved- and feared.
