Struggling in his classes and unwillingly cut from his parents' purse strings, Zacharias Smith seeks solace in a dingy pub. He intends to assuage his sorrows with cheap ale and poor company, but Hannah Abbott refuses to let him languish. Student, barmaid, and social pariah, Hannah knows what it's to have her life upended. But if she can survive, then he can, too.
    
    Written for the 2020 Tag(line) You're It! Competition. I chose the Apocalypse, which meant that I was randomly assigned two characters (Zacharias Smith and Hannah Abbott), a trope (Mutual Pining), and a movie tagline ("So shocking she could only be spoken about in whispers!" from The Strange Woman).
